Open days at University of Westminster
The university has a rich history of providing students with academic excellence, cultural engagement, and personal enrichment since its beginning.
The university offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses across various disciplines, including business, law, media, arts, and sciences and is well known for its media and communication studies.
Notable alumni include fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, Charlie Brooker, creator of Black Mirror and Nick Mason, drummer and founder member of rock band, Pink Floyd.
Facilities
There is a library at each of the four campuses equipped with an extensive collection of books, journals, digital resources and other specialist materials. There's also a MacBook loan scheme and computer suites with the latest software.
The university is continually investing in facilities, which includes financial market suites, design and photography studios, TV and recording studios, the fabrication lab, state-of-the art laboratories and architecture studios.
The University of Westminster offers a range of sports and fitness facilities to its students and the general public including the Regent Street Gym and Quintin Hogg Memorial Sports Ground.
Why go to an open day?
When you attend an open day, you'll get a gut feeling about the university. Open days will help give you clarity if you're not sure what course to choose. You'll be able to visit different departments and chat with lecturers and other department staff, there are often subject talks too. You'll also get to speak to current students. They can tell you whether they're satisfied with the teaching, what the local nightlife is like, what the best halls of residence are – pretty much anything. Don't forget to look at the accommodation for yourself and make time to walk around the surrounding area to see if you like it.
Where is it located?
The university is made up of four campuses, three in central London, all within walking distance of each other and the fourth is in Harrow, north-west London, about 30 minutes away by tube. All four campuses are very well serviced by public transport.
You'll never run out of things to do in London. The Regent Campus is close to Oxford Street, Europe's busiest shopping street, with a mix of exclusive and high street shops, cafes and restaurants. The Marylebone Campus is within walking distance of some of the world's most popular museums and art galleries. Cavendish is close to the West End, home to some of the world's most famous theatres and the Harrow site is nestled among impressive parks and outdoor space.
