Open days at University of Bradford

The University of Bradford is known for its鈥痠mpact on social mobility鈥痑nd is ranked first in England for this category according to the Higher Education Policy Institute's English Social Mobility Index 2021.  

It is an inclusive community with a supportive and friendly environment where students learn from and with people from around the world.鈥 

The university is also recognised for its efforts in becoming an 'Ecoversity', setting an example for other institutions about sustainability and corporate social responsibility. 鈥 

Facilities  

The university has fantastic sports facilities on campus, including Unique Fitness, which offers a swimming pool, a fully equipped gym, a spin room, and a climbing wall.鈥  

The university's main campus, the鈥疌ity Campus, has a 24/7 library with bookable study areas, specialist facilities, and equipment loans.鈥疶he library also has subject librarians who can help students find resources for their assignments and exams鈥 

Cafes, shops and social spaces are dotted around campus and the uni has three bars and Theatre in the Mill. 

Why go to an open day?  

When you attend an open day, you'll get a gut feeling about the university. Open days will help give you clarity if you're not sure what course to choose. You'll be able to visit different departments and chat with lecturers and other department staff, there are often subject talks too. You'll also get to speak to current students. They can tell you whether they're satisfied with the teaching, what the local nightlife is like, what the best halls of residence are 鈥 pretty much anything.鈥疍on't forget to look at the accommodation for yourself and make time to walk around the surrounding area to see if you like it.  

Where is it located?  

The University of Bradford is on Richmond Road, close to the city centre and about a 15-minute walk from Bradford Interchange train station. You can also travel to campus by bus or car but do visit the uni website for information about car parking on site.  

Bradford is UK City of Culture 2025 and is rich in diversity and culture. The city offers an exciting events calendar, with plenty to discover as a student. Highlights include the Bradford Literature Festival, Bradford International Film Festival and Bradford Festival, a three-day celebration of the city's diverse communities. Bradford is also known as the 鈥淐urry Capital of the UK鈥 and has won the title six times. 鈥
