Open days at University of Hull
The university, founded in 1927, has a rich history of academic excellence and a proud heritage of academic achievement. The university motto, Lampada Ferens, translates as 'carrying the light of learning', and aims to help build a better world.
The University has research expertise in social justice, environmental technologies and maritime history and received the Queen's Award for Technological Achievement.鈥�
The University of Hull is the official university partner of Team GB, bringing the opportunity to work with one of Britain's best-loved sports brands. It was recently awarded a gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).
Facilities
The seven-storey Brynmor Jones Library is a superb learning space. Students benefit from over a million books and journals, as well as flexible study spaces, an art gallery and a caf茅.
The Allam Sport Centre is a state-of-the-art facility that provides access to elite training equipment and qualified coaches with various sessions.
At the heart of campus, Student Central provides a friendly support service covering all issues affecting student life.

When you attend an open day, you'll get a gut feeling about the university. Open days will help give you clarity if you're not sure what course to choose. You'll be able to visit different departments and chat with lecturers and other department staff, there are often subject talks too. You'll also get to speak to current students. They can tell you whether they're satisfied with the teaching, what the local nightlife is like, what the best halls of residence are 鈥� pretty much anything.鈥疍on't forget to look at the accommodation for yourself and make time to walk around the surrounding area to see if you like it.
Where is it located?
The University of Hull has two campuses, the main one being in Hull and the second one being in Scarborough. The Hull campus is about 15 minutes by car from the city centre or a 20-minute bus journey.
Hull is a small, compact and friendly place and previously a city of culture winner.
The cost of living in Hull is relatively low compared to other cities in the UK, making it an affordable place to base yourself as a student. Hull is also known for its awesome and cheap nightlife.
