Open days at Nottingham Trent University
Nottingham Trent University or NTU, as it is often known, is a research university and the sixth largest higher education institution in the UK.
NTU has a worldwide reputation for excellence and was named University of the Year at the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2023 – voted for exclusively by students, highlighting their commitment to excellence and innovative approaches to education. It has also received the Queen's Anniversary Prize for research.
It offers a wide range of master's degrees, research degrees and professional industry-specific qualifications with work-related experience embedded into teaching.
Facilities
NTU has invested heavily in equipment, technology, and facilities across its university campuses over the past 20 years to support the student experience. For example, NTU's award-winning libraries are open 24/7 at City and Clifton campuses.
Located at each of NTU's main campuses, the Student Services Centre is a one-stop-shop for student advice and support, from card services, general enquiries and the university's Student Support Services.
Why go to an open day?
When you attend an open day, you'll get a gut feeling about the university. Open days will help give you clarity if you're not sure what course to choose. You'll be able to visit different departments and chat with lecturers and other department staff, there are often subject talks too. You'll also get to speak to current students. They can tell you whether they're satisfied with the teaching, what the local nightlife is like, what the best halls of residence are – pretty much anything. Don't forget to look at the accommodation for yourself and make time to walk around the surrounding area to see if you like it.
Where is it located?
The university has six campuses in total. City Campus is considered the main hub and is based in Nottingham centre. Confetti Nottingham Campus is also close by while Clifton Campus is about four miles south of Nottingham and can be reached by car or bus.
The other three sites are not based in Nottingham itself. Mansfield Hub is a new addition to the university and is near Mansfield town. Brackenhurst is in Southwell and Confetti London is, as the name suggests, in the capital based in Whitechapel.
Nottingham has a rich history, famous for the medieval legends of Robin Hood. The city also has a thriving music scene, unbeatable nightlife, beautiful green spaces and with more than 60,000 students it's a great community to be part of. Nottingham is also very affordable and centrally located with easy access to other cities across the UK.
