Bishop Grosseteste University (BGU) is a public university found in Lincoln. The university offers a wide range of courses ranging from foundation degrees to PhDs.
BGU is known for its鈥痗ompassionate approach to life and learning鈥痑nd has consistently ranked highly for student satisfaction and good employability rates.
Bishops Grosseteste is one of only a few universities, from across the UK, to be awarded a gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).
Facilities
BGU offers a modern library open almost every day of the year with social, quiet and silent study areas, plenty of PCs and a 24/7 IT suite nearby.
The university's鈥痵ports and fitness centre鈥痑re open to everyone, including students, staff, and the public.鈥疘t offers a variety of fitness classes, personal training, and facility hire options.
There are plenty of places to eat or drink on campus, including the Alice in Wonderland-themed Curiositea, the urban diner Refectory and bar located in the Students' Union.

When you attend an open day, you'll get a gut feeling about the university. Open days will help give you clarity if you're not sure what course to choose. You'll be able to visit different departments and chat with lecturers and other department staff, there are often subject talks too. You'll also get to speak to current students. They can tell you whether they're satisfied with the teaching, what the local nightlife is like, what the best halls of residence are 鈥� pretty much anything.鈥疍on't forget to look at the accommodation for yourself and make time to walk around the surrounding area to see if you like it.
Where is it located?
Bishop Grosseteste University has one campus in the centre of Lincoln, a short walk from the historic Bailgate area of the city. The nearest train station, Lincoln Central, is approx. two miles away or there are various bus routes that pass near the university entrance.
Lincoln is a small city known for its fusion of old and new. Lincoln Castle and Bishop's Palace are just two examples of the old with the new at Brayford Waterfront, a popular student hang out with bars, cafes and restaurants overlooking the water. The city also offers shopping centres, a museum and gallery, cinema and an arboretum.
