Course summary

Discover the effects of globalisation on our legal and human rights with this LLB International Law and Human Rights master's degree. You鈥檒l graduate with a thorough understanding of international conventions, state responsibility, international dispute settlement and human rights responsibilities.

The programme will prepare you for a career in international or human rights law in governmental and non-governmental roles, or the private and commercial sectors.

You鈥檒l begin your programme with a one-week intensive legal skills course to give you a grounding in the common law system, interactions of statute and judge-made law, and the impact of international conventions and model laws on national law.

Over the course of the programme you鈥檒l develop your understanding of global legal frameworks along with the skills to analyse complex legal issues and evaluate legal or policy responses. You'll choose from a wide range of modules including: - dispute settlement in international law

human rights in context

international criminal justice

armed conflict in international law

free speech and privacy on the internet

And you鈥檒l join a close-knit and diverse learning community, we offer an exceptional academic experience, with small-group teaching that allows you to explore topics in depth and plenty of support to ensure you achieve your potential.

In addition, our strong links with the legal profession and extensive career support will enable you to grow your networks and enhance your employability in preparation for a successful legal career.

Assessment methods (Outcome qualification level): We鈥檒l feedback on your work during class to help you to identify your strengths and understand where you can improve.
