Explore one of the world鈥檚 leading industries whilst gaining confidence in a modern language to help you succeed in your future tourism career.This course is brought to life with inspiring and real experiences, and it is accredited by the Tourism Management Institute (TMI). You will learn in creative ways how tourism destinations are managed to be successful, sustainable and competitive. You will develop much more than tourism knowledge; you will leave with valuable experiences that will give you an edge at interview and in the workplace.On this course, you will improve your communication skills in a modern language, develop your confidence, and increase your level of fluency giving you the additional advantage to communicate in a widely spoken second language.Work on globally important sustainable tourism projects, join our Tourism Society, get involved in opportunities like hosting the national TMI conference, and take up a tourism industry placement. Chester is one of the UK鈥檚 leading historic tourism destinations. It is an ideal place to explore tourism marketing, development and management ideas that can be applied across the globe.The Placement Year is an opportunity to work in industry or practice so that you can put everything learnt so far into practice and gain hands-on experience.
