1. Chance to help others

Nursing is a noble profession, concerned with helping others. You’ll meet countless new and interesting people, whether it’s those you work with or those you’re looking after. If you care about improving people's wellbeing, helping those that are sick to be as comfortable as possible or even bringing new life into the world, a Nursing course is an obvious next step.

2. Great graduate prospects

Nursing boasts excellent graduate prospects. This means that most Nursing students enter professional employment or continue their studies within six months of graduating.

If you enter a graduate role within the NHS, you’ll start off as a staff nurse. You can later specialise in certain areas, such as operating theatre work, or progress to a more senior role such as a ward manager. The pay gets higher the more senior you become.

3. Nurses can work anywhere

Become a registered nurse and your skills will be in demand nationwide. Nurses are also needed all around the world – you may want to work abroad and with the right qualifications, you can.

4. Work as part of a passionate team

A career in Nursing is by no means a solo venture. You’ll be a part of a team whose job is to care for patients and improve their quality of life. Sharing these experiences with those who have the same passion for the job as you will be rewarding in and of itself. Many nurses will become your lifelong friends.

5. Always learning and developing new skills

Nursing offers you training in complex medical care – some of which isn’t dependent on any equipment. You’ll be able to apply your ability to save a life to everyday scenarios, making you an asset to your family, friends, and society. You’ll be afforded unique life experiences when working with the NHS, and you’ll continue to learn and build key skills beyond your studies.
