What degree had you originally applied for and where?

I originally applied for Economics at Loughborough University and Economics at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. I got into my second choice but didn’t feel happy or eager to go so I applied to YSJ on clearing.

What is your degree, and where are you studying? 

Economics at York St John University.

Why did you enter Clearing? 

I entered clearing due to not being excited to go to my second-choice university. I attended York St John Summer School the year prior and felt really at home when I went. So, I applied again. 

What factors made you finally settle on the course you chose? 

I enjoyed studying economics during my A-levels and did some research into the modules at university. I was really interested to research them further and explore the content.  

Did you attend a Clearing open day and, if so, how was it? 

I didn’t attend a clearing open day, but I did attend the ‘normal’ open days. I enjoyed seeing the campus and if it was the correct fit for me. It was also an excellent opportunity to speak to my future lecturers and get to know what they are like before choosing the university.  

 Did you find a place to live easily? 

I found a place to live very easily. I think about an hour after my acceptance notice, I got a place in accommodation which was a perfect fit for me.  

Have you enjoyed your course and time at uni?

I have loved studying at York St John University! I have met friends for life, and I will cherish every memory of YSJ.
