The scientific study of the human mind and behaviour is inherently fascinating. Our team of lecturers are passionate about the subject of psychology, using a range of teaching methods to engage and inspire you.We are as much concerned about your student experience with us, as we are about your destination after graduation. You鈥檒l graduate with a range of transferable skills 鈥� from data handling, computer skills and effective communication to teamwork, critical thinking and the application of theory to practice.We aim to prepare you for many kinds of career, within and allied to Psychology, providing you with relevant skills and knowledge within an enabling and empowering learning environment.Do you want to know more about the world we live in? Do you care about the world and want to make a difference? If so, you鈥檙e well-suited to this Sociology course.Sociology is the study of societies, cultures, and groups. We live in complex societies with laws and informal rules that govern how we interact. Sociology helps you to understand more about yourself, others and the way society is organised.


Combined Honour Awards

At Bath Spa University many of our undergraduate programmes can be combined, so you don鈥檛 have to limit yourself to one subject. If you choose to study a combined award then in Year One you鈥檒l start by studying both subjects in equal depth. From Year Two you can choose whether to continue with equal numbers of modules from each subject, or whether you want to select additional modules in one or the other. Upon successful completion of the programme you will graduate with a joint degree.


More about the Professional Placement Year

A Professional Placement Year (PPY), traditionally known as a sandwich year, is where you undertake a period of work with an external organisation for between 9-13 months. The placement occurs between your second and final years of undergraduate study. You can engage in multiple placements to make up the total time and are required to source the placement(s) yourself, with support from the Careers team. The PPY Bursary can make work experience more accessible, with students undertaking a PPY able to receive between 拢500 and 拢1,500 to be used towards placement costs such as travel, food, workwear or accommodation.

A level : BCC - BBB

A Level - grades BBB-BCC preferred. If studying Psychology, then a Grade B or higher is required. If Psychology is not an option at your school or college, then another A Level subject will be accepted, but a keen interest in psychology will need to be described in your personal statement.
