A completed Professional Entry Requirements (PER) form. Please upload as one single document, fully completed.
An original enhanced employer DBS that is less than 3 years old when the course commences
Level 6 study (evident on your PER form and copy uploaded)
Confirmation of your funder if not self funding or approved online by your Trust
Please bear in mind, that there is a high demand for the course, so we have to allocate places to students who upload their application criteria first. The sooner you are able to upload the information, the higher the chance of receiving a place. When places are full subsequent applicants are then offered the next available cohort.
Please note that if you work for Wolverhampton NHS Trust you should approach your non-medical prescribing lead before progressing with your application.
The Prescribing for Practice (V150) course aims to:
Develop competent, safe and professional practitioners who have a sound theoretical knowledge base and who are fit for practice in prescribing from a limited formulary.
Equip students with the knowledge, skills and understanding to evaluate, enhance, synthesise and develop higher levels of decision making within the context of non-medical prescribing practice.
Support practitioners to work within codes and standards of professional practice to protect human rights, promote equality and manage risk in the safe delivery of health care.
Assessment Methods
At the University of Wolverhampton, a variety of modes of assessment will be used to support and test your learning and progress and to help you develop capabilities that are valued beyond your University studies and into your working life. Your course may include a variety of assessment activities: Written examinations (including online examinations, open and closed book examinations and quizzes) Coursework (for example, essays, reports, portfolios, project proposals and briefs, CVs, poster presentation) Practical (for example, oral and video presentations, laboratory work, performances, practical skills assessment) In the final year of your undergraduate degree, and at the end of your postgraduate degree, you are likely to be expected to write an extended piece of work or research, such as a dissertation or a practice-based piece of research.
