This course ensures that you're fully prepared for a career in teaching secondary biology. We help you to grow academically and professionally, gaining advanced qualifications alongside practical training. How you learn
All our courses are designed around a set of key principles based on engaging you with the world, collaborating with others, challenging you to think in new ways, and providing you with a supportive environment in which you can thrive.
This course provides an advanced academic qualification alongside the real-world experience that is so vital for teaching. Along with honing your biology skills, you'll learn crucial techniques in behaviour management and student support. There are 120 days of school-based training that allow you to become used to the realities of teaching before graduation. You are assessed through supportive, collaborative means, helping you to grow and improve.

Future careers
This course prepares you for a career in
- teaching Key Stage 3, 4 or 5 biology
- academic research via masters-level study and PhD
- local authority/voluntary sector work or research
- non-government organisation (NGO) administrative and research posts
- enrichment work with young people
- more general graduate roles including, for example, retail management and the civil service
Many of our students go into full-time positions at their placement school. The course is vocational in nature, and our graduate employment rate is usually well in excess of 90%.
