If you’d like an exciting career in the fast-paced world of journalism then this is the course for you. Develop the skills needed to work in a multi-disciplinary media environment including TV, radio, print and online journalism.


Why study BA (Hons) Multimedia Journalism at BU?

Previous speakers include Jon Snow (Channel 4), Jake Wallis Simons (Daily Mail Online), and Stephen Sackur (BBC HARDTalk)- Take advantage of BU’s partnership with AFC Bournemouth to cover home games, attend pre-match conferences and conduct interviews at Vitality Stadium- Make invaluable industry connections during a 30-week work placement with organisations such as national and regional media, the BCC and Sky Sports.- Bournemouth University is ranked in the top 20 universities for Journalism in the Guardian University ´óÏó´«Ã½ 2023 and 90% of our graduates are employed or in further study within 15 months after finishing their studies. (source DiscoverUni 2023). - You’ll graduate with a degree accredited by three industry-recognised bodies – the National Council for Training of Journalists (NCTJ), the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC) and the Professional Publisher’s Association.


Course Accreditation

As an NCTJ accredited course, you’ll work towards the coveted NCTJ Level 5 Diploma in Journalism. This professional qualification can radically enhance your credibility and employability as a practising journalist. It also means you can graduate with this industry-respected hallmark of excellence.This course includes a foundation year option for students who do not meet the entry requirements for the degree course. This additional year of study will give you a grounding in the media & communication skills required for this course, building your confidence, knowledge and skills for further study. After successful completion of the foundation year, you will progress to the full degree.
