Course summary

This degree is similar to our four-year BA Modern Languages course, but does not include a year abroad. The three-year degree is aimed at students who are unable to spend a year abroad because of special circumstances 鈥� contact languages@reading.ac.uk to find out more.You鈥檒l choose to study up to three of our core languages: French, German, Italian, SpanishThese languages are offered at intermediate and advanced level.Other languagesOur programme also allows you to combine up to two core languages with one or two of our additional languages.Choose from: Arabic, British Sign Language, Chinese (Mandarin), Modern Greek, Japanese, RussianYour study options include:- one core language- two core languages- one core language plus one additional language- two core languages plus one additional language- one core language plus two additional languages- three core languagesYou鈥檒l spend eight weeks on a placement in a language-rich environment to expand your language skills and develop your intercultural understanding of your language(s).
