Course summary
Take a cultural studies approach to the media. You will engage with key theoretical debates that bridge the arts and social sciences.
Study the media (the press, broadcasting, film, and digital media) as institutions, texts and systems of representation. You will explore the media鈥檚 political, social, and cultural power in everyday life and the public sphere. You will:
- develop a skills portfolio in critical analysis, creative thinking, and research methods
- choose from a wide variety of options, allowing you to set your own intellectual agenda
- gain methodological knowledge to research a wide range of media.
