Unlock solutions to improve people鈥檚 lives, from challenges in aerospace, engineering, or manufacturing, to the medical sector.Using project-based learning, you鈥檒l be a trainee engineer from the start. You鈥檒l plan, build and test prototypes in response to a range of stimulating briefs. And you can build on your knowledge and skills with our range of extracurricular options. The Foundation Year is an extra year of study at the start of your degree. It鈥檚 designed to boost your academic skills and knowledge of your specialist area. When you successfully complete it, you can transfer seamlessly into the full degree programme.Like all our Engineering courses, Mechanical Engineering shares a common first year, which means you can choose to switch to a different pathway in your second year. It also offers a four-year Integrated Masters (MEng) option. This lets you study a year at postgraduate level on top of your degree.

Thanks to our accreditations, you鈥檒l be well on your way to becoming an Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer when you graduate. We鈥檙e in the process of becoming accredited by the Women in Engineering Society too. Previous Hull graduates have secured roles with BAE Systems, British Energy, Williams F1 and Rolls Royce. 鹿 (Mechanical Engineering) UK domicile full-time first degree leavers; Higher Education Graduate Outcomes statistics, for the academic year 2020/21, published by HESA June 2023.
