Overview

As the threat of cyber security becomes a focus for companies all around the world, this course is designed to help provide you with the skills needed to manage the challenges in the field of cyber security management.

The course will enable you to gain knowledge of digital information security concepts and an understanding of how they are applied. You can benefit from a rich learning experience and detailed coverage of various digital security technologies.

This pathway includes two cyber security management specialist modules and your project will be in this field too. There will be no reference to cyber security management on your degree certificate, however your transcript will show all the modules you took and the grades you received.

The course consists of three distinct but interconnected stages:

Certificate - The modern enterprise and business environment 鈥� how does it work?
The Certificate phase will develop a resource based view of the business enterprise and examine how value is created, including the impact of the wider business environment on the enterprise鈥檚 value creation activities.
Diploma - Preparing for tomorrow 鈥� what needs to change?
In the Diploma stage the focus shifts to considering the manager鈥檚 role in the development of an enterprise in response to the internal and external context, to create sustainable value.
Masters 鈥� Management in action 鈥� bringing about change
The Masters phase of the programme will focus more specifically on particular sectors and /or roles (including general management and leadership) depending on your chosen pathway. The emphasis will be on exploring, critically evaluating and applying a range of sector/ role specific models and concepts within a practice setting/ context.

The course will also support you to clarify and develop your career goals as you progress through and will encourage reflection on how your goals might be met.

Career prospects

During the course of your study, you should develop strong analytical skills, clear perspectives on strategy and strategic thinking, and highly effective communication and research skills. These are all in demand from employers in private, public, and third-sector organisations around the world.

Global information security workforce study has predicted there will be a global cyber security workforce shortage of 1.5 million by 2020. We will bring you the latest thinking and most up-to-date methods for protecting intellectual property, commercial secrets and critical business assets.
