Course summary

Law underpins our society. A law degree gives you a unique insight into everything, from the economy to the criminal justice system and it gives you a huge range of skills that will last you throughout your career.

We cover all the subjects you need to know tort, contract, criminal law, constitutional law and property law 鈥� youll get a thorough grounding in the essentials. Thanks to our teaching teams wide range of specialisms, from families to sports, we offer exciting option modules beyond the core curriculum.

During your final year, youll complete a major project. This could be anything from a dissertation to work in the community.

Take your first step on the path to becoming a solicitor or barrister or to work in related professional services or academia.

Youll be able to take advantage of our extensive industry connections. We have links to leading law firms, chambers, and the wider professional sectors 鈥� including Eversheds, DWF, Deloitte, Browne Jacobson, Addles haw Goddard and chambers across the Northern Circuit.

Mooting is often referred to by solicitors firms and barristers chambers as highly desirable on applications for training contracts and pupillages. We have invested in a state-of-the-art moot courtroom to offer an enhanced student experience. This is the perfect place to develop your confidence and fine-tune your advocacy skills. Youll have classes and extra-curricular activities there, and you can even use it for your final year project.
