Studying Italian and Classics helps us understand the contemporary world, as well as shedding light on the past. Our joint honours programme incorporates a range of option courses, giving you the blend of specialist skills and broad Intercultural Competence valued by graduate employers around the globe.ItalianStudy Italian with us, and you will learn the language in the context of Italian culture. Courses cover some of the most famous and influential works of literature, art and cinema.No previous knowledge of Italian is needed. Intensive language tuition, including a year spent studying or working in Italy, will develop your ability to read, write and speak the language to a high standard with advanced translation skills.ClassicsYou can opt to take a Latin, Greek or a non-language pathway through Classics.You will explore the highly influential scholarship and literature of the classical world that gave rise to Western society.
