Course summary

Our BA International Relations and Asian Studies course explores the growth of Asia's economic and political influence on global affairs. You'll delve into key themes such as the evolution of the Asian continent and the complex challenges of global politics. Our teaching is underpinned by the work of our Asia Research Institute, which addresses the major political, social, and economic challenges of the region. This means you'll be learning from experts who are at the forefront of research and policymaking in Asia. You'll also have the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the culture of the region as you can spend your second year studying at either our China or Malaysia campus. Optional modules allow you to tailor your degree to your interests and career goals, whether you're interested in environmental governance, security, the media, or social and global justice. Our graduates have found success in a range of roles across the private, public, and charitable sectors. You could work as a parliamentary assistant, councilor, civil servant, researcher, or data analyst. Graduate destinations include AON, the BBC, Citibank, Civil Service, House of Commons, and Unison. By studying with us, you'll gain valuable insights into the evolving relationships between Asia and the West and develop the skills you need to thrive in a changing global landscape.
