Course summary

Economic development, population growth, poverty, and globalisation all place increasing demands on our environment and its resources.

Our unique Environment, Economics and Ecology degree focuses on ecosystem services. These are the processes by which the environment produces the resources we need such as clean air, water, food and materials.

Our health and wellbeing depend upon these services and our use and management of these natural resources. We study the links between human and natural systems and the need for a holistic socio-ecological approach to understanding challenges and solutions to environmental conservation and sustainable development.

Course content

Our core curriculum provides fundamental knowledge of ecology, economics and social sciences, as well as training in a range of technical skills required for careers in these areas. You can select among a broad range of knowledge and skills-based options to develop your understanding of effective approaches to local and global sustainability.

Teaching and assessment

You鈥檒l study and learn with academics who are active researchers, experts in their field and have a passion for their subjects. Our approach to teaching will provide you with the knowledge, opportunities, and support you need to grow and succeed in a global workplace.
