Youll specialise in a pathway which best suits your interests or career plans.You could focus on language structures, language acquisition, how language is processed and represented in the mind and brain, or how language varies and changes. For a focus on text-level linguistics, youll consider how language is used to persuade, disrupt assumptions, challenge existing power inequalities or act as forensic evidence in criminal cases.On the TESOL pathway (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages), you will incorporate TESOL modules, enabling you to teach English in the UK or abroad.
