Course summary
Our course balances the related, but differing areas of electronic and electrical engineering. Youll develop complementary skills to apply to a fast-paced, exciting industry. Develop skills in power electronics, motor control systems and renewable energy. Complement this with in-depth knowledge of electronics such as analogue circuits and embedded systems development.  The practical modules on this course are based around the building skills needed within industry, such as problem-solving in an engineering context, project management and communications skills. Youll also be given opportunities to explore specialist areas in our dedicated laboratories, which are filled with modern test and measurement equipment as well as more specialist equipment for power electronics and robotics. Youll be taught by research active staff with many years of experience in industry. Full-time students can take an optional 48-week sandwich placement in industry between Year 2 and Year 3. Benefit from the latest high-quality equipment and facilities available through our new £35m Engineering Innovation Centre.
