On the PhD in Economics you will be taught and guided by top class researchers at the forefront of their field and will receive comprehensive support for your entry to the job market.
Course Overview
The programme will provide you with exceptionally high-quality training in advanced economics giving you outstanding opportunities to understand appreciate and contribute to frontier research. You will gain a thorough understanding of research techniques and an in-depth appreciation of the principal areas of concern for researchers in economics.
Teaching and Learning
You will have 9 hours of lectures per week in year one and 4-5 hours of seminars. In year two teaching is mainly on a seminar basis (6-9 hours per week) with seminar groups of between 3 and 15 students maximum. Assessment is a mixture of class tests exams presentations and referee reports.
