Course summary

Economics and Finance are at the heart of what we see on the news, whether that鈥檚 the impact of financial markets, soaring interest rates or challenges around global trade. Studying with us, you鈥檒l look at the economy as a whole, but you鈥檒l analyse the behaviour and motivations of individuals and companies too. You鈥檒l be immersed in industry from day one. Our academics will share how their research is informing policy and public debate. Step off campus and you鈥檒l be near London鈥檚 financial centres, the City and Canary Wharf. We鈥檙e also connected to leaders within the Bank of England, HM Treasury, and other financial institutions and professional bodies.You can also register for the Investment Management Certificate exam to achieve an additional professional qualification highly valued by employers. Success starts hereYou鈥檒l have access to real-life data with our Bloomberg trading terminals. You鈥檒l also use an Interactive Brokers Trader Workstation (TWS) and FXCM FX Trading Station to analyse real-time financial market data and the relationships between economic variables. Our annual 'Focus on Economics' and 'Focus on Finance' programmes include workshops to help you explore your career options. You can also register for the Investment Management Certificate exam to achieve an additional professional qualification highly valued by employers. Your success story in this sector starts here. When you graduate, you鈥檒l be ready for roles in everything from financial analysis to policy-making, consulting to technology management.
