Course summary
Why choose this course
As corporations grow in power and influence, it鈥檚 becoming increasingly important to understand how they can engage in criminal behaviour, how best to regulate against this, and what responsibilities corporations themselves have towards society.
This is the first, and currently the only, MSc of its kind in the UK, providing a combined approach to corporate crime and corporate responsibility.
On this course, we place strong emphasis on helping you develop the methodological skills to efficiently study corporate crime. This will sharpen your ability to think in a logical and informed manner about an array of problems, as well as train you to conduct effective research in this and other areas of criminology.
All our criminology masters courses meet the British Criminology Society benchmarks for postgraduate taught courses.
What you will study
This innovative course is designed to develop your knowledge and understanding of the way corporations can become involved in crime and the role of corporate social responsibility in helping manage this. It will also provide expertise in applying some of the key criminological theories to explain issues in crime and the criminal justice system.
Along the way you will also acquire skills in conducting social research and will benefit from being trained to use some of the most important social research methods used by practitioners, policy-makers and researchers in the area.
