What is crime? Who is a criminal? What motivates offenders? Can an offender be reformed? These are the type of questions which impacts today's society, and the questions you will explore on our BSc (Hons) Criminology. There is an opportunity to also achieve an additional professional qualification in youth justice alongside your degree.

Our students have joined mock murder hunts, contributed to hate crime scrutiny panels, and investigated miscarriages of justice. There is also the option for second year students to visit the USA to see how the American criminal justice system operates.

Careers and employability

BSc (Hons) Criminology graduates progress to wide-ranging roles in the police, Crown Prosecution Service, courts, probation and prison services, youth offending teams and various law enforcement agencies. Some pursue rewarding careers in the voluntary sector, working with offenders or victims.
