Course summary

Studying BSc Business Management with Finance at the University of Salford gives you an understanding of the challenges faced by governments and organisations worldwide, as well as the skills and knowledge to work in a high-level business or managerial career. This industry-led course combines theory with professional experience, through live projects and professional placements. The Foundation Year of the four-year programme aims to provide understanding of the key subjects in business to meet the prerequisites for study on the associated degree programme. The key areas of study will be effective communication and study skills combined with key subjects in business. You will be introduced to basic theories and concepts within the disciplines to provide a basic knowledge in all related subject areas. The programme will introduce you to essential areas of business necessary for progression onto business, accounting or law degrees. You will learn how to apply business concepts to real life organisations and develop communication, IT and study skills. Following completion of the Foundation Year, you will progress on to year one of your selected degree for the remainder three years of your course (four years if you are choosing to do the professional placement year).We have worked with industry partners to make sure the programme is highly practical, career-focused and industry-informed to prepare you for a successful management career.
