After gaining a solid grounding in the principles of biomedical science, youll move on to specialist topics, acquiring the in-depth understanding and advanced techniques vital for professional practice. That means youll study a range of areas, from cell and molecular biology, physiological systems and research skills, to cellular science and techniques and applications in biomedical science, to name but a few. In your final year, youll get the chance to develop your own particular interests via a major project. With our excellent facilities and close links with local hospitals, by the time you graduate youll be ready for the next stage of your career.

Career prospects

Biomedical and healthcare science graduates may go on to a range of subject-specific careers in the biological, pharmaceutical, healthcare and other associated industries. Recent graduates have gone on to secure employment in the NHS, laboratory/research work, the pharmaceutical industry, education and medical communications. Many of our graduates also go on to further studies at masters and PhD level.
