Course summary

If you have an interest in developing skills and understanding in working with and supporting children and young people with additional needs and disabilities, and their families, this could be the course for you. Students will be offered the ability to gain insight into many of the disciplines associated with supporting children and young people with additional needs and disabilities including diagnosis and developing, historical, cultural, social, and political attitudes and values, exploring behaviour, care and education, transitions and how to promote independence, assistive technology, health, inclusion, rights, creative practice, and innovation in the field.We are committed to employability and career management and this course will develop knowledge and understanding required for a range of careers in this field with specific modules linked to developing strong professional practice and leadership skills.To support this, students will be encouraged to develop their individual interests through subject specific assessments and research.
